Honestly...when I croak...it won't matter if people are around me or not.
I'd rather nobody be there...or even know about it...
Like my cat when I was a kid...when her time was up, she just walked away and never returned.
That same way...I would like to ride off into the sunset and never look back.

In the real world we are born alone and we die alone because no matter who is there we are the only one who is experiencing death*..... No other human being can relate or impact on it while we are the only one experiencing it*.......

You sound strong. Unhappy relationships really are the worst. But dying alone is scary. It would be nice to have someone you love to help you through the winter of your life.

To each his own......if dying alone fits you, then you may have it.
I don't like being alone in life, it's a very bad feeling.
Dying doesn't sound like fun - but if I must eventually die, I'd rather spend my time with someone I adore while I'm still alive!

I guess they are afraid of being alone not just dying alone but, some people think they need someone to make them happy. In reality no one can make you happy. I don't really know, good question does make you think.

I think it is normal, as human beings are natually social creatures. I have known a lot of people to feel this way, myself included.

well some people are different they dont wont to be alone they want someone special in there life.im one of those people i want companionship, someone i can share my love with and receive theirs as well.I want someone to share the rest of my life with,not experience it all alone we were not made to be alone.And since my divorce it scares the crap out of me that i just might be alone the rest of my life and die alone i admit it.
but hey i guess everyones different.

(it normally means that the body isn't discovered for days - or even weeks! Let me tell you, that is not pleasant!)

But it doesn't happen that way and if your sick and old, it is comforting to know that some one cares enough to be with you till the end.
