I live in my refuge. After working most of my life, I am fianlly retired. I have my own place and caller id. I can even pull the plug and not get any calls. The world is right there-outside my door, but I try to go there as little as possible. Sounds like a refuge to me.

To A Park By a Large Boat Ramp. I like to sit there at a Picnic Table (alone) and watch the Boats Come and Go. Big In-let of Tampa, but beautiful and peaceful.

The bathroom, even if I don't have to go. My kids know that following someone to the bathroom is rude so that's the one place I can go. I'll just sit down with the door cracked so I cab hear and then read my book for about 5 minutes. It's a nice short break.

Sometimes here because answering questions is fun. Sometimes
my husband and I get into the car and drive the back roads. We have
seen a lot of critters. One night it was a Fox, Deer, the other night a
live Possom. They are usually at the side of the road. This one ran in
front of us. It's beautiful late at night, with stars, fireflies, and the sound
of the night animals. Nothing like it. Sydney, you ask great questions!! x

There's a waterfall in the mountain near my home that not many people know about. It's really peaceful and the sound of the water falling down over and against the rocks is so relaxing.

I go to the beach...the beach has always been my safe harbor in spite of what was going on around me it's the one place that I can go to and feel safe...the water just takes everything away and make the problems that were so big seem so small. Definitely a great place to clear my head.

i have a small creek that has a pool about 40 yards away from my house. it's full of minnows, crayfish and frogs. i take wee bits of table scraps and sit feeding the critters and thinking of nothing with a big grin on my face. invariably, some idiot will come by and say, "what are you doing? feeding your fish?"
that spoils the mood for me.

I usually go to a movie alone to get away. If it is a drastic situation, I will lock myself in the bathroom taking my headphones to immerse myself in music.

I would take a walk in the woods since there is noone there to bother me and I don't have to worry about anything but relaxing.
