why todays kids can't calculate 2+2=4 w/out a calculator? Why even adults who attend school claim its too much for them. is this a sign that USA is really down to hill not only education but everything?

You just hit the nail on the head...why do teachers deserve more money when they aren't doing their jobs in the first place.
Work well then make more money, not the other way around...unions get it backwards again!!

I really don't think it's quite that bad. I'm in Canada and I can assure you even the mentally delayed can add 2+2 I think you should be more concerned with a lack of parenting skills from SOME parents and what your government is willing to do about that. Once the children are first well taken care of at home. The rest will heal itself. We are very lucky to live in a country where our children can go to school. Don't forget that.

Teachers cannot do their jobs because they are too busy trying to teach your kids things you should have taught them.
