Star Spangled Classic
A summertime tradition continues each Independence Day with the annual Star Spangled Classic at Bishop Park presented by the Athens-Clarke County Department of Leisure Services.
This community Independence Day celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. and continues throgh the evening with the and a musical performances by the Classic City Band, the 60's and Powerplay.
The ACC Community Cake is donated by Publix! Concessions are sold by the Elks Lodge with proceeds benefitting Project START.
The evening culminates with a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 9:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The Star Spangled Classic is free and open to the public. No alcohol or glass containers permitted. Due to the large crowd and fireworks, please do not bring pets or grills to the park.
