I have an IUD and well my periods are out of control. This one has been for like 9 days already. Anyways, i dont like tampons, so i wear pads. But now that my periods are so long, the pads are starting to rub a rash in between my legs. Anyone know what i can do or any other alternatives besides tampons?

Have you tried the menstrual cup? A menstrual cup is a type of cup or barrier worn inside the vagina during menstruation to collect menstrual fluid. Unlike more common methods, such as tampons and pads, the cup neither absorbs the flow nor catches it outside the body.

If you are a smaller person (petite) try using pads for teenagers. They are not as wide and seem to fit much better. If that doesn't work, switch to a different brand. Something in the product you are using now may be making your condition worse.

I once read an article about a woman who developed rashes, itching and hot flushes and to cut a long story short it was to do with her sanitary towels. Something in the material just didn't agree with her. She started using organic ones and the problem dissappeared. Maybe give those a try? x

You can use the wingless daily pads and carry a small bottle of powder with you so when you are changing your pads tap a little amount of baby powder between your legs!

You can use a "red rag - mamas pads", just google it, they are a microfibre pad with a snap fastener, a washable pad. You can use a "catcher" you get several brands made of either rubber or silicone, that you insert that catches the blood and you empty it down the toilet and wash it, reinsert....One brand is "mooncup"...just google it
