I have taken the SAT once and bombed it and I do pretty well on everything else. I have all A's and do a ton of extracurricular activities and an active in things outside of school and the same time I've gone to state level competitions. If it so happens I do not do well on the SAT once more do I have a good chance into getting into colleges such as the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Norht Carolina, Duke, or Florida?

If you do well on the SAT you will get into all of those, including the best, Duke. When I first took the SAT, my score was low in the mid 1700s but then I got the sat guide from TutorFox: http://www.tutorfox.com/satguide.html and my score went up to 2190 (800 math, 760 writing, 630 reading). I highly recommend this guide for anyone wishing to get a higher SAT score.

It really depends on what you mean when you say that you "bombed" the SAT. The SAT is a test to level the playing field. Some students go to high schools and take easy classes with easy teachers. Straight A's for them mean nothing when compared to straight A students from competitive prep schools.

Given that all of the schools you listed are in the South, you ought to take the ACT. It is far more popular among universities in that region. Perhaps you would do better on it.

Don't forget that test scores are only a part of the admissions process. It looks like you are making the most of high school by participating in extracurriculars both in and out of school. That's important. Also, make the time to do some community service work. Not only does that look good to admissions officers, you'll help people and probably enjoy yourself along the way.

Good luck!

Do those colleges accept another exam? I was an A student and the SAT did not showcase my abilities. I chose the ACT instead and was very pleased with the results. I believe my low SAT perfomance was due to the format of the test; I did not answer many questions because I was concerned about losing points with an incorrect answer. The ACT had the format I was used to (a wrong answer has the same impact as not answerring).

I don't know if I'd recommend this, but I had several friends who said they got the best SAT score after a night of drinking. Just throwing it out there...

Don't get your hopes up for Duke. Last year they didn't accept like, 99 people with perfect scores on SATS, so you never know what's going to be enough for them
