I'm 7 weeks pregnant & I have extremely bad morning sickness! Everything I eat comes back up & I'm throwing up all day and all night to the point where nothing more but bile (sorry to be so frank) will come up!
I've tried eating crackers and ginger biscuits and that hasn't helped! Has any1 got any other remedies? I can't even go out because of it. I thought a woman was supposed to enjoy pregnancy, this has just been a nightmare!

Yes, call the dr. about your nausea, because you are losing much needed hydration from your system every time you are ill. It's not good for your teeth, either.

The secret for me was, when I woke up, not to move. Reach for a cracker and water on the night stand and eat it very, very slowly. Step by step try to resume your normal day.

Most everyone is done with this sort of thing by 12 weeks, so if you can hang in there until then, you probably will enjoy your pregnancy. If you're not better in a couple of days, e-mail me, as I have another remedy I don't want to print on the net, but may be very effective and easy (no meds).

I'm not going to tell you that it will pass, because it may not. But here are a couple of things to try:
1) drink Ginger-ale - ginger has a chemical in it that helps settle your stomach.
2) eat Saltine crackers - the salt helps dry up the excess acid in your stomach and the cracker will expand in your stomach creating a fullness.
3) take it easy. sleep as often as you can. Have it completely dark, just lights by candles or other soft lights. And very quiet.

If this does not work for you, your doctor will give you medication. This medication will not harm your baby
Talk with your doctor, he is there to help you and your baby.

I understand! I lost almost 10 lbs my first 3 months. Im now 21 weeks and morning sickness is gone!!!! A trick i found is eating small amounts all day. Crackers didn't stay down for me either, so I nibbled on raisins, goldfish, and pretzels all day. In the morning, stay in bed and eat a handful of goldfish or raisins slowly, then wait before getting up. If you keep small amounts is your stomach all day, it will help with the nausea and vomiting. It is crucial that you do this aaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllll day, though. After you've let your snack settle, you can try small meals. Soups, salads, and baked potatoes kept me from starving to death. After a week or two of doing that, my morning sickness went away (thank god). I hope this works for you!

I feel your pain, but don't worry too much if you can keep fluids down at least. The longer you are pregnant, the more the symptoms will subside. It is possible that it could last the whole time, but most women don't much past the first couple of months. The first two months or so were unbearable for me, but as time goes on, it happens less and less.

Very important.. if you are throwing up more than 3 or 4 times a day and you can't keep fluids down.. go to the emergency room! Otherwise, wait it out a little and if you can't take it, go to the doctor and ask him for a prescription to help. The home remedies don't always help.. although they can sometimes ease it a little.

I didnt exactly throw up everything I ate in the 1st trimester, but I did have constant nausea, take some Mylanta, that will help with the morning sickness too. And are you taking Prenatal Vitamins, bcz when i was, i got sick off of any and everything that i ate. Some women just cannot handle those vitamins. If you are, try taking two Flinstones Complete Vitamins everyday, and that will be just as good. I hope you feel better soon hun, good luck

Here are a few tips. Eat small meals, never let yourself get hungry, but don't overeat, both can cause nausea. Try seabands, I hear they really help, a friend is lending them to me for my nausea. Try gingerale, ginger does naturally combat nausea. If it's too bad, talk to your OBGYN call him/her even if your appointment isn't for a while. I have heard that for extreme cases of nausea there is a pill that they can prescribe and according to some message boards I have read, the ladies are saying it's a lifesaver. I am pregnant with my 3rd child and the nausea gets worst with each one. Unfortuneatly for me it doesn't end in my 2nd trimester. My first child I had no problems, but my second and now 3rd have been very difficult. Hang in there, when you feel your baby kicking and moving around, you will love it. Congratulations

I had the same problem, and you should get used to it for the time being. Morning sickness usually goes away at the end of the first trimester. Try taking a lot of time getting out of bed. Try eating the cracker before you even get out of bed, and stay in bed for atleast thirty minutes after eating them. I had to do that, and now that my pregnancy is over, I will never eat another saltine cracker again, lol. Another thing that helps is those motion sickness bracelets. I'm not sure if you can get them at wal-mart or not, but I bought mine at Bass Pro. Some doctors can prescribe you medication, but from what I've heard, they do more harm than good. I know it sucks, but pretty soon the morning sickness will get better. Congrats on your pregnancy.

I was THAT BAD too. NOTHING crackers, gingersnaps, biscuts, green tea, lemons. NOTHING worked. I would litterally throw up water. Biles, and liquid. Mayloxx worked for a little while but it clogs you up. I began losing weight, if you cant keep anything down for more than 24 hours, call your doctor. They have me a RX for some nausea medication that worked wonders! Lets put it this way, they were suppositories! thats how BAD i was. I gained 3 pounds my first trimester. As bad as it sounds, fruit. Its light, healthy and easy to throw up. And when you get some food in there you feel better.

I found out my morning sickness was because of my smoking. Once I eliminated the cigarettes and the second hand smoke, the nausea was easy to handle. Plain bread, real fruit (strawberry) popsicle and hot tea. Then some french fries. Then a pickle. .. sorry, #2 baby on way.
The best idea is to not let your tummy get empty or too full. You might even try chewing a few tums to help.
It only lasts for a little while!
