Hello!
the answer to your question is simple!
all what we see are recieved in our eyes as LIGHT... Because the velocity of light (300.000/s) is too much important, almost 1000 times faster, compared to that of the sound(344 m/s ). So when you see it! the light arrive in your eyes before it sounds in your ears!

when you are not far from the blitz (300meters) the light and the sound arrive to you almost at the same time! if not with some millisecond of diference! the More you are away the clearer is the diference!

I hope i was useful!

Thanks

Because your eyes are closer to the display then your ears

try turning around, you will then hear it before you see it.

its b/c light travels at 300,000,000 m/s
while sound travels at 343 m/s
so the light gets there faster
