The Yankees are dead! Here's the math. Over the past 10 years the average win for the wildcard in the AL has been 95 wins. They would have to go from today, 56-45 the rest of the way and leapfrog 7 teams whom are currently ahead of them for the wildcard. What makes you think they can go on that kind of run when they're bench, relief pitching, and starters are all suspect.

The situation the Yankees find themselves now is a tough one, but if anyone can battle their way out and wind up in the playoffs it would be the Yankees. They have the players that can get the job done and an owner willing to do anything to help them along.

I pray daily that the Yankees end up in last place and outside of the playoffs.

I don't think they will because the team is just out of it this year. The team chemistry is too low right now, and they can't get consistent pitching. Unless they do some fancy dealing at the trading deadline, I don't see them making the playoffs.

No, I don't think that they will make up the necessary ground. There are too many teams ahead of them for the wildcard, and they are already out of the division race.

well i doubt it as they would have to make a big turn around and i dont see them doing that anytime soon. but they are always pretty competitive though.
