Vampire Knight (manga)
A girl named Yuuki was abandoned by her parents at a very young age, and as a vampire was about to suck her blood on that cold winter day, another young male vampire named Kaname saved her. She now goes to a school, (the chairman who's aware of vampires adopted her) in which vampire and humans co-exist. Plus there's another boy the chairman adopted (year older than Yuuki) named Zero. Kaname also attends the school.... basically they're divided into the Day Class (humans) and the Night Class (vampires). But the Day Class doesn't know that the Night Class are vampires. With the acception of Yuuki and Zero, who are the school gaurdians. Bascially, its a love triangle with Kaname, Zero and Yuuki. It has action, some comedy, and romance.
Ranma 1/2 (manga, anime, movie)
Another choice that fits what you're looking for. Well, long ago two martial artist made a promise that their children would marry, etc. Basically that takes us to the story, where a man has three daughters, and the youngest, the fighting loving tomboy, Akane, is forcefully engaged to her father's best friend's son, Ranma. Not only that, but Ranma and his father (after finishing their journey) have come to live with them. The only problem? Asides the fact that Akane thinks Ranma is a stupid jerk, Ranma turns into a girl every time he is splashed with hot water! Very humourous, funny romance and a lot of action.
Scrapped Princess (manga, anime, novel)
An oracle claims that the daughter of the queen's twins will destroy the world when she turns 16 and must be killed at birth. She was dropped off of a cliff, but later found and saved by a woman who gave the newborn to her friend to raise as her own child. Now fifteen, Pacifica is known as the 'Scrapped Princess', the poison that will destroy the world. Along with her older step-brother, Shannon and step-sister, Raquel, they must leave town and journey across the world to keep Pacifica safe, because everyone is trying to kill her. But what happens if she turns sixteen?? It's really good, lots of action, some romace between characters, and comedy too.
Samurai Champloo (manga, anime)
Fuu just wanted to be normal and do a good job as a waitress. That all changed, though, when a mysterious, fight-loving guy came into the resturant one day and demanded a free meal. She refused, of course, but there were these other customers that were harassing her, and he asked if she wanted him to take care of them. It wasn't for free, so she had to give him the free food in the end.... anyway, going on, the two of them plus another samurai are wanted across the country and flee quickly. Much action, romantic moments between characters, and lots of humour.

Shakugan No Shana, Tenjho Tenge and Full Metal Panic are some anime I think you will find quite enjoyable!
