We'd be speaking Spanish. When you say, "If it wasn't for English" --the only way this might have occurred would have been if the Spanish Armada had beaten Drake. Thereafter, Spain would have colonized the New World and created our nation.
Of course, the other answer is that if it weren't for the Yanks, there'd have been Germans goose-stepping down the Strand by 1942 and today all the shops in Leicester Square would be serving bratwurst and weinerschnitzel and you'd all be blonde and stinking with sauerkrat and wearing leiderhosen at beerhalls.
Come to think of it, Britain might even have turned out to be a better place.

Not true...Our Language would have been German. It was made English by one vote. The power of one vote is incredible.
There was an article printed in our local newspaper a few years back that listed all important things that became our countries history by the power of one vote. This was one of them on the list. Amazing isn' it. So always remember to vote it can make a difference.

You would be surprised at the congress that voted for English to not be our national language. 95% were democrats. Also that same bunch voted to give illegal aliens our Social Security. People that are not Americans, and have not paid one cent into social security. I am ashamed to say 5 of them were Republicans. John McCain was the one that most surprised me. Dems. doing this doesn't surprise me at all.

that's totally untrue. A lot of our words come from multiple languages all over the world. Because people that came to america came from all over. Therefore we have words in American that you only see in German, Danish, Italian, etc, and not in the UK.

Uhhh. yes.
One kind of followed the other.
I guess it could have been a different language if we would have colonies of a country with another language.
