Since I'm old enough to recall life before cell phones...I know I could live w/out one. Also, at work... we are required not to use our personal cell phones except on breaks/meal breaks. So that's a huge block of time each day that I am without mine. So, not that big a deal for me.. I do own two cell phones, however. One is just for business to contact me. I don't really want them to have my personal number or call my landline if I have a choice.

Its very important to me. We don't use out house phone because of telemarketers (they call literally every 5 minutes all day long!) and we don't use an answering machine for the same reason. That "do not call list" doesn't work. And my cell number is on my business cards. I'm hardly ever home anyways unless I'm working so if it wasn't for my cell I'd never get to set up appointments with my clients

After my mom, who's 80 now, got unwell on two separate occasions while shopping, and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance, I bought a cell-phone, so that my family can always reach me in time of an emergency. (they are the only ones who've got the number, and are instructed ONLY to use it in case of an emergency, NOT for social calls)
In that aspect my cell-phone is extremely important to me, and I should really hate to have to go without it, cuz I wouldn't feel at ease anymore if I could not be reached by my family.
(mind you, I've gone without a cell-phone for well over 40 years, and didn't think about getting one, until my mom got sick)

I don't use one. Use the house phone if I need to make a call if it is more important than that than I go in person. I don't need the constant urge to be in constant contact with people. That is a want not a need. That is a desire not a need. That is a not have to have in my book.I have survived this many years and lived a happy successful life without it so who needs the stress. Let them find me! If they want me bad enough they will!

Before I had a cell phone I could easily say no problem...Now I am spoiled if something happened to my phone I would probably go crazy it is a clock and a link to anyone I want to talk to at any given moment.

not very important...I usually don't hear it, or it's charging or by the time I find it at the bottomless pit I call a pocketbook..I have missed the call. I'm pretty sure I could chuck it for a week and not miss it

It's important enough sometimes if I need to call someone and I'm out. I could so live without it though.

I haven't had a cell phone for years. It's not that hard. It just earns you weird looks whenever you tell somebody.
