Well, over the years I've heard millions of stories about it, at campfires, party's, and a couple of stories from my brothers, but I'm not sure which is true. I've never seen the movie. I've tryed finding it, in my nearby Block Buster, but they never seem to have it. I hear people saying you say his name 3 times, but some people keep changing it to 5,6, and 7. So can anybody tell me the REAL Urban Legend?

Candyman is a 1992 horror movie starring Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd and Xander Berkeley. It was directed by Bernard Rose and is based on the short story The Forbidden by Clive Barker, though the film's scenario is switched from England to the United States (specifically Chicago).
According to the legend, anyone who looks into a mirror and chants his name five times will summon him, but at the cost of his or her own life.
This film was #75 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

the real story is that you say candyman in the mirror 3 times and he will appear. He was a slave who fell in love with a white woman and her father had him murdered but before he died he said he said candyman into her mirror 3 times and the only way to kill candyman is to destroy the mirror

The movie Candyman came out in 1992, but I saw it like 3 years ago. It basically was you say his name 5 times and he comes out....................
Anyways, you can find the movie at blockbuster. Just ask them where it is.

It's not a true story. In the movie they say his name 5 times in the mirror. Bloody Mary you say three times but Candyman you say 5 times.

...actually, I'm pretty sure that "Candyman" is but a cinematic variation of the well-spoken-in-hushed-whispers urban legend of "Bloody Mary"!!!
...here is a webpage that covers the entire urban legend (it even references "Candyman" as being one of the variations of "Mary"), it's variations, and the story behind Bloody Mary herself; it's quite illuminating, and heck, would probably make for quite a scary movie in itself!!!
