It's probably because they really dislike him.
Plus a lot of people I know like to say that A-rod and Jeter are former gay lovers and that's why they don't get along anymore.

Because we don't like the tool. And also, to that dude up there saying Sox fans are jealous and mad we didn't get him... Who's in 1st place? I'd take Lowell over Gay-Rod anyday... he's a classy guy who doesn't have to pull stuff like yelling or sliding into 2nd dirty to win a ball game... And if you wanna say Lugo isn't as good, you can, but if I were the Sox I would have kept Cabrera or A-Gon anyway.
So ya we basically just dont like A-Rod and figured we'd humor ourselves and call him GAY-ROD ... like it or not we're still in 1st place pal.

we all have our opinions, i guess, and its a shame that some people have to act that way.
and i hate when people stereotype red sox fans, because yanks fans arent that great either so dont even make us look like the bad guys. its a joke. and quite frankly, i think Alexander Rodrigues has better things to worry about, if hes so big.

its alexander Rodriguez that they take the a and put rod of Rodriguez and gay they say that because people are stupid and jealous of him and think hes gay come up with some proof that hes gay or something you cant because hes not stupid ignorant immature people

The haters do it because they jealous. I like him, the only time I thought about that name was when I saw him on David Letterman without a shirt and that Biff guy giving him a massage. I know it was all a joke but it still looked creepy

It's mostly the guys that say this,They call him gay rod,,and say stuff about jeter being his lover,,Either these guys who say this crap are very very ULGY!! and wished they looked like them,OR these guys are really the gay ones that dream about Arod and Jeter!! It's really very sad and pathic!!
