Brian (below) Since the investigation was derailed by Libby's perjury, what magic 8 ball are you getting your "facts" from?

gman (below) Her congressional testimony is all that matters. As neo-cons claim Reagan lied to the preess, but not under oath about Iran-Contra.

trouble (below) If it hasn't been proven, would that be because Libby derailed the investigation by lying under oath?

Neocons pay lip service to the concept of patriotism but when it comes to actually protecting the country, neocons are not interested. Neocons have no interest in exploring this matter because it is highly embarrassing and would expose the Bush administration’s total disregard for national security. Exploring the truth might expose criminal behavior. Libby successfully obstructed the investigation and protected others including Cheney.

The basic underlying issue is one of the biggest lies that the Bush administration told about the reasons to go to war in Iraq. The Bush supporters have to minimize every part of this matter in order to try to keep attention away from that issue.

The attack on Joe Wilson by exposing his wife shows how little the Bush administration cares about national security. I don’t think that Fitzgerald could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the intent was to deliberately out a covert CIA agent but, at the very least, it was done with a careless disregard for national security. Such people obviously should not be entrusted with classified information.

Libby has not talked and now has no reason to talk. The whole thing is disgraceful but hopefully the exploration of the truth is not over yet.

Why do liberals/commies/pinkos want to hang "Scooter" Libbey out to dry, on trumped up charges instead of going after Richard Armitage for "outing" a *supposedly* "undercover" CIA NCO whose picture was plastered all over the cover of either a Newsweek or Time Magazine with her husband, Joseph Wilson? Was it a personal vendetta, partially engineered by Wilson, to cover up his involvement with the government of Niger and the "yellow cake" uranium they sold to Iraq, Iran, N. Korea, etc.?

It is ashame that none of the facts in the case support any of your vitriolic claims. Dick Armitage should be the one in prison, not Scooter Libby, not Dick Cheney and certainly not George Bush, I Say. Wasn't her cover technically blown when she (a covert agent at the time) disclosed to her then boyfriend (Wilson) what she was doing.

I'm waiting to hear about the CIA agent that was outed. It sure wasn't V.Plame! She hadn't worked overseas in a number of years and was a clerk in the CIA office, plus she told all her neighbors about where she worked and what she did.
So, lets hear your rant backed up with a few facts.

The question has to be asked if Valerie Plame was an undercover CIA agent in the first place. Also, check to see what she said in front of Congress vs. what she said to press. They are totally different. Also check to see what Joe Wilson said before Congress and what he said to the media and in his book. If there is anybody who should be tried for perjury, it should be these two.

Why all the fuss about one lousy pardon? Clinton pardoned 140 crooks in his last days in office. Shall we waste some time whining about all of them? Plame was basically a file clerk in the CIA. If you don't believe the 140 pardons, google it.

So Libby lies and Fitzgerald throws up the white flag? Geez, that Fitzgerald really stinks in the investigation dept. How can you post this question when you know that nobody outed her? It hasn't been proven.

We found out who outed her. And it wasn't the White House. Get over it.

No it is not patriotism to out a CIA agent, to pardon a person who committed treason by outing a CIA agent,,nor is it Patriotic to support the hiding of the facts which transpired behind it all.

Neo-cons /conservatives do not want to know these facts for the same reason they nearly destroyed the lives of those soldiers who forced the horrid Mai Lai (sic) Vietnam crime against humanity atrocity and the black balling (as seen recently on 60 Minutes) of the soldier who revealed the torture horrors of prisoners in Iraq.

These sick human trash are simply morally bankrupt souls not unlike those who tried to cover up the Holocaust etc.
