Does he collect social security? If he is elderly and disabled I would think that he does. You can apply with social security to be paid for his home assistance. If he is in need of the assistance due to his disability and/or age you will be paid for his home care. Go to www.ssa.gov to find out the information on how to apply for this. If you cannot navigate the site too easily to find the info you are looking for there is an 800 number listed on the site that you can call to ask the questions and get the forms sent to you. You can also go to your local social security office and pick up the correct forms there.
PS - With Social Security you do not need to be licensed to care for the disabled or elderly to get paid to be a caretaker.

Social Services I think can help you. You should get paid, it's very hard taking care of an elderly person let alone disabled. You don't have to be a professional. My mother had an advanced case of dementia. We didn't want her hospitalized where she would be stuck with feeding tubes until she died. My sister, her daughter and myself took 12 hour shifts to care for her. A social type worker came by once month to check on things. We got paid for that care. It was easier and cheaper for the state with us taking care of her and we felt better knowing she was still in her own home. Even the Social Security office can head you in the right direction.

I know alots people who work with elderly senior who is disabled or can't take care of them self and need someone to look after them.if the person with disabled get monthly pay check from soical security check then they should go to soical security office and fill out an application they need someone to take care of them once they fill it out they will be getting a phone call from one of the soical worker who will come over the house and have an interview with them and they will make there decision and they will be given other application to fill and on that paper would say put down the person name who would be your care and than you sign the application people who don't have a job or any money or not going to school can sign there name on the application of the disabled and they will send you a letter how much you will be reciving each month if he get 1,000 in is soical security cheack you will probably get 700 dallar all depend on the person check amount what their disabled are and if you planning going school to become a medical assist they would not allow you to sign the papper you will be denied but after you graduated and want to stay home and take care of him . I know I have friends and relatives and know people who do this for living you got to have no job no money and be able to take care of the disabled in order to get pay for taking care

I am disabled too and my friend lives with me. She helps me in many ways. However I can wash my own clothes and take a shower. I can even cook for my self most days, however I cannot drive anymore. In fact I am scared to even get in a car. Because one whiplash I am dead. We have talked and If this is long term I am leaveing her my home. I don't even have disability yet. I have to file again. Is that something this elderly person would do for you taking care of them. Leave you their home? My children told me that is was OK with them if I leave her the house. I can't pay her and I am checking out if she can write me off on her taxes too. If she didn't take care of me I would be in a lot of trouble. So sit down with this person, they may make it worth it. Of course if you need money now I don't know what to tell you. My friend works. I sleep while she works, most of the time. But for the last 4 days I have felt GREAT! Like I am healed. Good Luck May the Lord bless you, and keep you: make his face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

where is his family,or his children, they should be able to take care of paying you through his assests..? If he doesn't have family,he probably needs a social worker. How are you going to go to school and take care of him too? If he has all of his mental capabilities,he can name you to be over his medical or finiancial .May depend also on the state you live in,certain things may vary! Go to the social service department and the court house for information! Better cross all your "t's",in some states also it is a felony to mislead elderly after 62years! Take care!

Does he have an executor who takes care of his business needs? If so, talk to them about pay. If he is of sound mind, then talk to him. Set a fair pay and collect it every week. SS and taxes must be with held weekly, pay directly to the governments..both state and federal. Someone has to do the paperwork and write the checks. Good luck

Does he have medicaid or medicare? You can call a local company that ;provides services like this and have them come to his home and assess him. They are knowledgeable in the financial part as well and can help you. If he has private insurance that will work too.

State health department is a good start. Thier are guidlines to follow on State and Fed level like testing to some credit hours in class room setting. Go to his/her family members.
Wonderful thing what you choose to do and good luck.
