Hip-hop evolved from rap. It was that unsatisfied feeling you get after the rap song is over and you want something more. After rap took off to where rap wound up; hip-hop moved into the light and made its own way.

All 4 of those elements make the culture.

rap to me is more express of the words...they dont worry as much about the beat as they do with hip-hop.. ip hop to me is when the words are really there, but it had a good beat to it..
