Best one I've ever seen, not only on the 4th, but about the 4th, is the 1972 musical, 1776.
It's the story of the Continental Congress and how, against amazing odds, fierce debate and near bankruptcy, it decided to declare independence from British rule and become a new nation.
-And yes, it's a musical---and a darned good one, too. Based for the most part on the actual words and writings of many of the participants (John Adams, Tom Jefferson, Ben Franklin, etc), it's by turns, funny, informative, suspenseful, tuneful and memorable. Even knowing the outcome, by the halfway point you may find yourself worrying that the United States may not be formed at all---by the end, you'll understand why it was such a miracle.
It's available on DVD, and makes a great addition to the video library of anyone who likes good musicals, history, or movies!

I am gonna be very honest when i say this and alot of people may have others, but mine would have to be that new Transformers movie. I am a military member and am usually working on the 4th or deployed, so getting to have a 4th off and watching a movie is a godsent. I usually never go to the movies cause there has not been many good movies coming out lately, but that transformers movie was "WOW". I can remember when ID came out and everyone left the movies looking at the sky like thinking aliens were coming. That movie was nothing compared to the robot movie. the special effects were like nothing i have ever seen, and the acting was really good. Go and see it, cause its worth the 8 bucks to watch.
