Hi there, as of today (July 4th), I've encountered a very interesting problem. In the United States, people are supposed to raise American flags made in the U.S. only. Let's say, if someone got caught raising an American flag "made in China", legally speaking, what will happen to this person ?

The U.S. Military contracts out to foreign countries to make parts for Tanks and Planes and Firearms, and they're worried about buying and selling flags manufactured only in the USA?

Equipment our soldiers use on the battlefield, that MUST BE RELIABLE and PROTECT our soldiers is manufactured in foreign countries, and they're worried about where pieces of CLOTH are manufactured?

Somebody in the Government has their priorities WAY out of whack!

Nothing's "going to happen" if the flag happens to be from China...it's not against any laws and it's still a free country ya know.

Saying that "people in the U.S. are supposed to raise American flags made only in the U.S." is just a demonstration to show how disgraceful it is to be celebrating America's Birthday and NOT be waving or displaying American made American flags.

How can we Americans be supporting our country if we're not even buying American made products?
...ESPECIALLY the very symbol itself....The American Flag.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!"
(today we celebrate your 231st birthday)

Welcome to Globalisation. The same problems exist in other western countries such as Australia. You try to do the right thing and buy a product which is made in your country but now most things, including flags are made in China or some other developing nation. Unfortunately this trend is not likely to change anytime soon. Consumers are hooked on buying stuff cheap and im afraid that in countries like the US & Australia its not cost effective to make things in our countries anymore.

Nothing would happen. That is as stupid as having a day when you are suppossed to only drive an American made car.

I couldnt care less who made it. The symbolism remains unchanged.

My flag is flying today--is yours?
