My cage is my home, yet it is also exactly what it is; a cage. It is my safety zone where I hide from what I am afraid to know. The cage is built to keep things out, not to keep me in. I could get out whenever I want, but I normally don't because it is predictable in here.

Strange you should ask...I wrote a song called Cage. I know why the caged bird sings...A cage can be safe & cozy & warm while freedom can be scary & cold. But you don't want to live in a prison. There must be a balance between the two...a little freedom, a little security. Yes I've created a safe little nest/cage at home. It's my beautiful little sanctuary. The doors are locked so no intruders can get me but sometimes I trust someone enough to let them in...

That is kind of hard because those two words contradict each other, it would be impossible for me to view my cage as a home, I think I could see my home as a cage though. Your home is what you make it, it should not become or feel like a cage.

"Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in a cage ."
Sorry I was quoting from Bullet with butterfly wings by The Smashing Pumpkins there, and no I wouldn't call my cage my home it's more my safe place when I need alone time.

Hello? I'm pretty sure I don't HAVE a cage--let me look around...nope. My home is My Place. I could walk around blind folded & know where eveything is, I can answer the door or not, as I wish. I can invite friends or not. I can be totally myself, & that is anything but a cage. I am FREE to be me in My Place.

No. Home is where I will go when this body is deceased. The cage is only in our minds.

A cage with the door open but I cannot fly away. The choice is totally mine. Clipped my wings long ago and love the comfort too. Tragic though.........
