I was thinking the same thing today while watching the story of the revolution on the history channel. We seem to be becoming what these people rebelled against.

Personally I feel as though our country has changed a lot since the time of the Revolution.. Our focus is more on money than it was then. The one thing that they wanted and fought for was freedom from the judgment of other.. The freedom to be who they felt to be rather than judging somebody.. I feel as though since 9-11 we have become a very racists country (more so than before). We deem all people who wear turbans and have an accent from the Middle East as a terrorist. And it's not because of the true feelings of people but the influence of the media that has tainted our views. It is unfair to judge a person before even knowing them. And I feel that Americans (myself included) are unappreciative to the rights that we are given that most other countries would/ are dying to have.

Yes, the democrats are trying to bring in a mexican invasion, use the fairness doctrine to silence their critics, and they threw scooter libby in jail for being honest, and saying "I don't know." The Repubs are fighting a war that is going nowhere, and our american public cares more about a talent show on tv than anything else. Great. They would be glad to stay dead if they knew what is going on. The government is all about money, stuffing their own pockets, power hungry senators and representatives are out of touch with their people, and the people don't pull them out. We are way out of the line that they envisioned I believe.

I love America and legal Americans, their spirit and nature. I just want to make sure we don't become the NAU! Or the illegals haven in the world! Or the new Iraq. God Bless America!

If by today's Government you mean the President, then I would say yes, he has betrayed the spirit of the Revolution along with the spirit of a lot of other things.......

We are no longer the country of freedom and democracy we once were, now we are the country of power, greed, lying, and the opression we were fighting against 231 years ago. Happy Birthday...?

My life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness seem to be doing pretty well at the moment. I have a happy life, my liberty is pretty good, and I am pursuing the things that make me happy.
