Is this a rip off, or does the coupe cost more to make?

It costs more, because they don't produce as many G35 coupes as sedans despite a relatively higher demand. Also, coupes are always charged a premium, because of their sportiness which people always seem to be willing to pay; until that willingness to pay goes away, the cost will remain higher.

because the g35 coupe is made from incredibly rare metals found 15 kilometers from the core of the earth. the sedan is made from aluminium.

the coupe is sportier and faster. more people want it.
