I prefer a bare bottom tank with potted plants (all amazon swords) when I breed them. Place to tank on a dark surface so it appears to have a dark bottom and the fish will be more comfortable. You will find that more often than not they will spawn on the side of the tank no matter how many caves and plants you give them, so the spawning tank usually becomes the rearing tank as well.

My breeding tank (2ft) has bare bottom, and java fern, a sponge corner filter, a half pot on it's side for them to hide in and now it's getting cold (australia) a heater. I have 4 corys, 2 females, 2 males that have proved to be good egg layers.
The cories usually lay the eggs on the side of the tank. Sometimes they eat the eggs so I remove eggs (carefully with razor blade) to a 1ft bare bottom tank with sponge filter, and hatch and start to rear them in that tank, I find the corys are easier to feed as it's a smaller tank area for them to find the food and easier to do the daily clean. Then when large enough I transfer to a spare 3ft tank to complete the growing.

I use bare tank with only a sponge filter and aerator going for breeding corys. This allows me to see the eggs and fry when they are laid and hatch, sand or fine gravel makes it difficult to spot them. and harder to clean during regular water changes.

Fine gravel and plenty of caves. Do a google search for breeding cories. You will have a much easier time finding info than you will breeding them.
