The surface of the water needs agitation. Get at least an air pump and air stone, but you would be much better off with an old school sponge filter. There are tons of web sites with step by step instructions on making one cheaply. Keep your ammonia levels very low.

Please turn on the filter to keep good water quality. However, if you are using undergravel filter or power filter, be sure the baby mollies won't be suck into the tube; otherwise you'll find dead fries in the filter.

If your filter's tube will suck in the babies, use a tank divider and just leave babies in the side without the filter tube. It's a good idea to add an air stone in the tank to increase circulation. Mollies are heathier in warm water. Ideal temperature for mollies is 26~27.

if you have the filter off the tank will become alot dirtier and you will have to clean it out alot more often, it is a good idea to turn it off as the babies wont get sucked into the filter but it should really be kept on, the best thing to do is buy form a pet store is nest bag it basically hangs off the edge of the tank obviously in the water and it keeps the babies safe and you can keep the filter on so the tank will be clean and the babies can grow!

I would turn the filter back on, that way they get enough oxygen in their tank and it also keeps the water cleaner

Hope that helps
Good luck

Def turn the filter back on. They can survive temp changes but can't cope with unfiltered water.
