If it were up to me, the easiest thing would be, to find that book of pages yellow, my ill-fallen fellow. Look for the proper doc, and in him put your stock.

I get styes about once a year, probably from a spec of dust or something.
The only thing the eye doctor will do is to give you some ointment which is very hard to use but don't rule out seeing someone.
What I do is get some eye wash (Collyrium) at the drug store and use it 4-5 times a day and do it very well and by keeping your eye clean from foreign matter the stye will go away. You could go with hot compresses as well if you like.
Also in the future when you feel a stye coming on (and you can) start using the eye wash right away 4-5 times a day and you will avoid the pain full event of a full blown stye.

Good Luck.

PS- The eye wash is available at any drugstore and comes with a little cap to use for dispensing and don't worry it does not burn at all it is very soothing.

If you have a sty in your eye
My advice is to cut your tie
place it in dye
and eat a french fry.
If that doesn't fly
go see your guy.
Just don't cry!

1] wash your eye area with 'tearless' baby shampoo twice a day
2] use a warm wet paper towel for soaks, four times a day for 20 minutes each
3] if it doesn't improve a lot in 2 days, call the doctor.
CAUTIONS:
a] don't squeeze it
b] use disposable towels to clean and soak it - sties are contagious
c] keep your hands away, unless you are washing it
I only do rhymes for birthdays!

Hot compresses will help bring it to a head so that you can then drain it. Don't squeeze.
