I bought an SD card a couple years ago and it always worked great. I bought an apply laptop and I had to buy an SD drive to plug into my USB port. Once I got the pictures imported and then deleted them from my card, I slipped it into my Nikon Coolpix S9 camera and it said "Memory card contains no memory". Is my SD card toast or is there something else I need to do? The SD drive is still reading it when I plug it in, but my camera isn't. Can I get any help?
Thanks!

Please don't tell me how to do things on a PC, because I don't have one. I've used this thing for years taking off pictures, deleting them and inserting it back on the camera. I don't know how to reply to peoples comments -- I apologize.

FOR FUTURE REFRENCE : Most cameras have the option of formatting the SD card in its settings. =) There is no need to do this on a hard drive, and no, your SD card is not dead. I asked my cousin and everything worked out fine.

you will have to reformat your SD card so that the camera will be able to read it. most likely FAT.

It could be, that your computer (or you, while you had the card inserted in the computer) zapped some of the folders necessary for the camera to write its photos. Our camera writes to a "hierarchy" of folders, like (my spouse has the Nikon out right now, but on the Olympus, it's E:\DCIM\100OLYMP\
...and I'm not sure the camera's smart enough to create a new folder!

The lifetime of flash memory is finite: It cannot only be written/re-written to like other media.

Sorry! At least you got your data from it.
