I have herd that a line drive hit on the solid part of the bat from a 100mph fastball leaves the bat at around 130mph to 140mph at it's highest speed.

Dude, I've worked the radar gun for years. The pitches come in (in pro ball) at 85 -100 mph. They come off the bat between 105 and 125mph. You gotta hit it sooo hard to go over 125.

It depends on the speed of the pitch and the speed of the swing. I think that after contact, the ball maintains something like 75% of the original velocity. Then you add about 75% of the speed from the bat. If the pitch is about 95mph and the swing is about 80mph, I'd guess somewhere around 130-135mph.
