You want serious? That's right down my alley. Allow me to introduce myself....I am Sirius....I am a A1V type of white star. I am located 8.4 light years from earth (we have good broadband here), and at -1.47, I am the brightest star in the night sky. My nickname is the "Dog Star," because I am the brightest star in the constellation Canus Major (the Large Dog). The ancient Egyptians celebrated my rising in the night sky, because it marked the coming of the annual floods of the Nile river, which deposited fertile silt on their fields, and made agriculture possible in that part of the world. But enough about me....how are things on Sol III (that would be Earth) these days?

Yes, I can answer this seriously. For some you'll get the same serious answer, others you're correct - they'll be general tomfoolery in their answers.
