Crows (and Ravens) have many superstitions attached to them.

We can narrow this down to certain specifics—a single bird alights on a rooftop and utters its cry (how many caws can also be important).

• To meet a single crow is generally thought to be unlucky.
• A single crow that croaks three times near a dwelling is said the foretell a coming death (or other misfortune).
• One crow landing on the rooftop of a house is only a comparatively recent superstition of a death omen, most recorded superstions only call for bad luck. This is also more of a general bird omen, rather than a crow-specific one.

Depends on the tradition. They can represent death because traditionally they spent a lot of time in Grave Yards, but to indigenous people - they are the messengers of the Gods. When I see a crow, I generally make sure to be doubly careful in case something bad is around the corner and they are trying to warn me.

True story. I was in Atlanta and getting ready to drive home with a friend. I looked around and everywhere I saw crows - there were a couple of dozen in the parking lot, on posters and then the pro Wrestler "Raven" came into the hotel. I got the over whelming fear of fire. SO, I drove home since my companion was very tired and sure enough, half way through our journey his truck caught fire and burned. Fortunatley, because I was alert to the situation - neither one of us was injured and we managed to get our possessions out before the truck was engulfed.

I think they are trying to give you a message from God so when you see them, spend a minute looking around to see if you can find it. :)

Well if it was on the left of you that's spiritual and if it was on the right of you that's physical.

There's an old rhyme/chant/poem that talks about crows and says:

One for Sorrow
Two for Joy
Three for a Girl
Four for a Boy
Five for Silver
Six for Gold
Seven for a story, never to be told.

Well, ravens are said to bring bad luck, but crows I'm guessing are pretty similar. They are supposed to signify death. No, if a crow comes it doesn't mean you'll die. They are a beautifully mysterious creature, and you should respect them. Hey, where I live there's a HUGE murder of crows, maybe 200, and they are awesome! Very helpful to predict the weather.

Yep, death it is. In some Native American beliefs, the crow carries souls away to where the dead are. I learned that from the movie and graphic novel, "The Crow," and from the TV series, "Stairway to Heaven" (?) with Mark Dacascos. I did look it up back then.

This page will explain it better than I can. http://www.birdclan.org/crow.html

It's not necessarily a bad omen, as crows are often misunderstood. I had crows recently trying to get my attention as well and I asked my guides for help. I came to this page. But basically, they're omens of change.

many believe that black birds, such as the raven or large crows, serve as a foreboding omen. These omens usually serve the purpose of warning an individual of a negative event, usually death. but don't worry this is all superstition

Try to imagine that these birds have been around for a very long time, and they are now considered to be a very smart bird... Also they were considered to be messenger from false gods... Also like many of natures creatures they are looking for an easy meal. And where man is so are the easy meals... So crows also develope a legend about them and man-kind has always become afraid when one of natures creatures don't fear them as much as man thought that they should be.....................................................................
