I think that that is a HUGE invade of privacy, I have girl products that I have and people can see it. Of course I won't carry it around outside of work, but still!

Dillards could just as easily forbid you from carrying any purse on their premesis.
They make these rules because they are tired of employees robbing them blind by loading merchandise out through purses.."

It depends on how you feel about it..I mean you can get your own purse that is clear and still be fashionable. Also, they told you that is part of it so deal with it.......Or you can quit because you are probably gonna end up hating working there for other reasons....like ....THEY SUCK! I worked for Dillard's for 6 yrs and if it was not for the fact that I worked in the salon I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did. GOOD LUCK!!

Having worked at Riche's Dept. Store, I can understand the need for security, and I am assuming that is what the clear purse is for(like clear children's backpacks, it becomes harder to conceal).
Security was next door to my dept. and I heard of and saw(via security cameras if I was next door) plenty of hijinks's going on.
Employee theft is a major problem. In some ways it is worse than theft from "customers", as an employee knows more of the inside workings of the store.
Please do not be offended. You are not being picked on. Trust me, if you owned the store, you would issue the same policies.
To me, you should only quit if you had planned on stealing and the clear purse gets in your way.
As for your "girl products", you can't be the only female in the store. Ask your coworkers what they do? I'm sure there is a solution to your problem.
A little career advice. If you plan on staying in retail, get into a management program ASAP. Management is one of the few areas you will ever make any money with in retail.

Umm. not really. I mean. If you have girl products you can put them it NOT CLEAR pouches?
Plus maybe your boss thinks its cute. I mean hello? Clear purses are came back. Big named brands like Chanel and Juicy carry CLEAR bags.
I dont think it's a big deal. But if you think it is, talk to you boss and tell them how you feel. I dont think a BAG should be the reason why you quit!!
And if your boss gives you some attitude when you ask if you can use a different bag or something or the reason why your boss gave it to you was for some nasty weird preverted reasons, then thats when you should quit.

I agree with you and totally understand about the "girl products". My advice is to talk to your boss and try to explain that you have personal items that you don't want the whole world to see. On the other hand, it is a security measure, so I don't know how your boss will feel about that. Maybe you can carry your girl stuff in a small, non-clear case or coin purse type thing. Hope I helped! :0)

Oh I see because I was going to say to talk to your manager on how you feel. But if it's a rule what you should do is not bring your personal stuff to work. Just put your workstuff in your purse. You have nothing to hide when it's just work equipment.
