Great question. Too bad the shmucks who demand people to "get over" slavery will never understand the impact that it had on blacks. It impacted them as well, except they benefited from it. Of course they never see it that way. They're always quick to point out that they weren't there, so it shouldn't matter. Good for you, but guess who was there? The ancestors of many blacks in America who were forced into centuries of poverty because of it. It matters to us. It matters to us that we have to work twice as hard as you to just to be on the same level of equality. It matters to us that people are always going to see a "black" person before a "person" in this country. It matters to us that people think we're all ignorant and poor because we whine to much. It matters to us. It. Matters. Get over that.
