To assume that aliens will plan an invasion to kill us requires A LOT of assumptions:

1) There are aliens.
2) They have the capacity to get to Earth.
3) They can carry with them the means with which to destroy us.
4) They know where we are.
5) They want to kill us.
6) They consider us to be worth their time and energy.
7) They don't want to enslave us or have an open dialog with us first.

It makes for good movies, but don't expect an invasion any time soon.

If aliens, for some reason, wanted to kill us they wouldn´t bother with an invasion. They would just design the perfect virus to kill us all without as much as pointing a single ray gun at us. So if there were evil aliens in our vicinity, that wanted us dead, we would be.

Why would extra-terrestrial aliens (if there are any, and there is no proof at all) want to destroy us?

If they exist, they would need a fantastic advancement both socially and technologically to be able to get here. To get that advanced they would need to have gone through a long evolution to higher levels of consciousness.

Only 100 years ago, we used to go shoot lions, elephants tigers, bears – all for the fun of it. Most of the people of the first nations have now moved on from that mindless slaughter.

Beings vastly more advanced than us, they would treat us as a fantastic curiosity. Why would they want to wipe us out?

You are creating unnecessary fear in your mind. Firstly there is no hard evidence at all that life of any kind exists beyond this planet. And secondly, if it is there and some of it is advanced enough to visit us, it will be on a higher spiritual plain than we are on. If that was not the case, it would not have advanced, just as we are struggling to advance in space because of all the strife we have to attend to on Earth.

Your fear should be the awful things going on in this world, not some dreamed up and totally irrational fear of something that very likely does not exist.

Well according to many sources who eat, sleep, and breathe the Alien Debate (I have read A LOT of books on the subject) if they wanted to invade, they would have done it already. The consensus is that The Gray big headed aliens we all know about are neither benevolent or evil. We are in far more danger of destroying ourselves.
