If my memory serves me right, the bill was passed in October requiring the government to build an 850 mile fence across the southern US boarder.

Why hasn't it been built?

I recall conservatives bragging their asses off for like 4 months about how Bush is successful and how a fence was going to be built. It hasn't been built yet. Someone explain...

Babe, it was the old republican congress that passed it and promised it, not the new democratic one.

150 miles haven't been built. Latest news says that only 13 miles have been built.

Yes good question, however Mexico opposed it , and that was enough to stall it. Don't want to upset Mexico do we . They might quit sending us all those illegals.

Instead of 850 miles of fencing we have received 150 miles at best. I heard that on a news report the other night. It discuss me that the government hasn't hired more workers (AMERICAN WORKERS) to build this fence that they want. They also need to build their own government run power plant that serves just the fence and have it wired for those who would dare to think about climbing it.

The fence is going to cost a lot more than was originally estimated. In addition, private property has to be acquired in order to build it. There are legal fights contemplated. There may also be additional costs for tunnel detection equipment.

OK Whiplash next time you see the old septic tank truck going down the road look inside and you will find every political promise the any lillylivered republican ever made. That was was pure bull s**t and Bush is not going to do anything to cut off the cheap labor for his rich friends.

There was such a hullabaloo about the company contracted with to build the fence hiring illegals that we are back to square one.

With issues like this it is important to write, call, or email your Senator or Congressman and let them know.

"What ever happened to that 850 mile fence that was suppose to be built?"

There's a shortage of cheap labor to build it. The call went out for illegal Mexican immigrants to build it... but they don't seem too excited about it.

Go figure.

They are still looking for the cheapest labor but the only offer is from the 12 million illegals already here, for Amnesty of course, not for peanuts.

The government apparently didn't think it needed to be built contrary to what the people wanted. Those in support of it are going to have to stay on them because of their I don't give a hoot attitude. This is really getting old. When you have to force them to do what they said they would do, it's pretty bad.

Sheesh, I guess we'll be waiting a while for the fence between the US and Canada then?

The engineers left big gaps in it and it was another waste of taxpayer dollars. It seems the engineers did not join efforts and were working only on their section. Just another fleecing of America.
