Are we Savages?

I used to read books about the "savages" that had piercings all over their bodies and they were soooo ugly and they were killed everywhere they could be found because they were "heathen savages". What makes us so different?

sure we are savages. under the exterior trappings of culture, society and civilization we are just like our ancestors. if we had gotten more civilized why are we still fighting each other trying to take what we want by defeating the enemy. we should have become more advanced so we would have a more humane way of life. but even in to-days modern societies might makes right. -- at least most of the time.
