It is remarkable, isn't it? Republican candidates usually easily beat their Democratic opponents in fundraising. The majority of wealthy people in this country are Republicans, and they naturally support their own.

The fact that they are doing so poorly I think reflects two things: Republicans are weary of an ignorant, incompetent, corrupt administration that is dragging down the country and soiling our reputation in the world; and the slate of Republican candidates is just not very inspiring. The top contenders are a big-city mayor who publically ran around with another woman while married and the former governor of a state so liberal that he has to claim he's recently changed his mind about everything he believes in. The Republican core looks like they're going to sit out this campaign.

It really may be that Republican donors are also sick and tired of their party not representing the conervative values they promote. Democrats have seen how Republican Supreme Court justices are deciding cases and realize that the next nominees will either secure the ultra right supreme court for years to come or return individual rights back to the people.

Yes, that and all the polls that show both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama beating any of the republicans in head to head polls.

No. In 2004 Howard Dean was the Democrat front runner. He got lots of support before the first election. Then he went nowhere.
Money cannot buy elections. It can buy air time and face time on TV. Issues still matter to most voters.

People are not giving more to the Democrats; they are giving less to the Republicans. Incompetence and failure will do that to a political party.

I guess they're tired of the Republican criminals with their runaway war spending; illegal activities; war profiteering and "holier-than-thou" attitudes. It's time to elect Democratic criminals with their runaway social spending; illegal activities; and equally arrogant attitudes. -RKO- 07/04/07
