The conservative-biased media never gave sufficient coverage to all the Bush twins' transgressions, but you can rest assured the Gore story will be front-page news and the lead story on tonight's network news programs.
There are some distinct differences:
The Bush twins should be held to a higher standard simply because their dad is POTUS. If Al Gore were the President of the United States, then his children should also be held to that same high standard.
Bush has compelled the conservative-biased media to "look the other way" when it comes to the transgressions of his children. My guess is that Al Gore will not expect any such "special treatment" - in fact, I'd bet he will invite the media to be highly critical of his son's actions and will also "face the music" like a man instead of hiding his family's dirty laundry in a closet like the cowardly George W. Bush does.
Finally, I suspect the Gore sibling will deal with some harsh realities and severe reprimands from his parents. If rehab didn't work the first time, my guess is the Gores will take steps to make it work this time. Having experienced what addiction to drugs/alcohol can do to destroy a family, I would expect it's not easy for Al and Tipper Gore. But I will expect them to face up to this matter and deal with it - instead of sweeping it under the rug as the Bush family does. -RKO- 07/04/07

First of all Al Gore is not THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.The Bush children were living in the White House and are the Presidents children. All Presidential children live with scrutiny.
Second this just happened yesterday and you are foaming at the mouth complaining that it's not Headlines yet. On the 4th of July when we are at War.
I don't think this is a case of Liberal Bias at all but bias of another sort.
Of course this is a valid news story. Of course Al Gore if he runs for President should comment on this. But how much can he say exactly when his son is 24 and an adult. Other than he needs to help him in whatever way he can.
Will you expect the same from Jeb Bush if he runs for President in the future knowing that his child has arrested for prescription fraud and cocaine and other drug charges ? Will his family values come into question as a result ?
Jeb Bush said " That this should be handled as a private family matter " Period.

Liberals are human beings with multiple facets, as are conservatives. You have let them divide the world into 2 halves, and this is wrong of us to have allowed this. Your thinking is now narrowed down to its lowest common denominator. Think for yourself.
About Al Gore, remember when Bush's younger daughter was very much involved in drugs? Guess not. Use the old bean.
Enjoy your 4th and read the NY Times to get a leg up in th e world. You'll be glad you did, and so will the rest of us.

Because it plays into values that are identified as liberal or civil libertarian: freedom to do what you want to your body. It involves a Prius, which means it wasn't hypocritical of the eco lobby. As for breaking the law, there has been a major trend of people believing their opinion doesn't count and they are 'disenfranchized', so why should it be a surprise that the laws aren't thought of as something to 'be broken'.
As to the Bush twins, regardless of rumors or what you may personally know to be true; they are prime targets due to their relationship to the President. No more, no less.
Look, if Bush beat Gore then Bush is 'more important' and the news pertaining to him and his family will receive more attention regardless of who is in control of the media.

I think its a setup by Right Wing Radicals in Los Angelas - so that a guy like you can have fun on the Net...get a life dude.
Every sins you have committed in your life so far - is not the fault of your parents dude....its your fault and your problem - that goes for Al Gore or George Bush or your or my kids....its plain and simple - but you want to blame Al Gore for it - thats what you guys do the best - I bet Bill O'Riley and Sean Hannity is your Mahatma Gandhi...

Haven't heard about the Bush daughters in ages. In fact, we NEED to see and hear (mostly see) more from them and less from their father. Are you confusing Al Gore with a former Republican VP, Dan Quayle? It was Dan Quayle who campaigned on "family values". The younger Gore does have a problem, but I don't see the point of your question; it was the first news story I read about today--pretty significant coverage for someone whose father is out of office.

Maybe the big deal for the Bush girls and not Gore's is that first, Bush touts his born again agenda for all others to follow, and second, the girls showed a pattern getting into trouble starting from when they were minors, fake i.d.'s, public drunkness, etc.. Third, Bush is the president of the u.s. , the #1 enforcement officer, commander in chief, does not get any bigger than that.

Uh yeah, in case you didn't know it's on Yahoo's front page.
Who really cares anyways, considering most people smoke pot nowadays, it's not a big deal. Not like he's a cokehead Bush or anything!

Get a life you saddo.
Parents cannot and are not 100% responsible for their childrens actions as they grow older. The child will get itself into mischief - it's natural and it happens to all kids, regardless of who it's parents may be.
I can tell you havent got kids. You've got NO experience in bringing up a family.
