We paid $100+ a person to take the Wine Train. That's with our "Napa native" discount. That included lunch, but no alcoholic beverages, we had to pay for those ourselves. Trust me, you're not going to see much on the Wine Train. Backs of buildings, fences, litter. The WT focuses on the food and wine, not the views. And you can't get off the train to look around St. Helena or anything. It's actually pretty boring.

For better views, spend the same amount on a hot air balloon ride. Or rent a car and drive around. You'll have more options that way and do stuff at your own leisure. For even less money, the local bus system is VINE which runs up and down the whole Valley. And for downtown Napa there's a trolley which I believe is still free. If not, it's only 50 cents or $1. For a taxi, Black Tie is the best. There's better ways to see Napa Valley besides the Wine Train.

The Napa Valley wine train starts at $50 (train ride only) but then the prices climb depending on 'options' you can select. Here's their website, if you click on 'Reservations', you'll get a list of the options and prices: http://www.winetrain.com/ .

The challenge with the train is that it doesn't actually show you around much of Napa Valley - it goes up the middle but you don't get to to any touring (other than on the Grgich Hills tour, when you get to tour one winery). There is so much else to do ... if you want to see multiple wineries, you're going to need to either rent a car, or, better yet, a limo for the day (eliminates the need for a designated driver!)

My spouse and that i did the wine prepare a pair of years in the past, and could in all possibility do it returned this summer time. My opinion is which you're extra perfect off putting apart vineyard excursions from the wine prepare. The prepare is a advantageous outing and meal. For logistical motives, the excursions linked with the wine prepare could be wineries that are quickly on the prepare song. you're able to do extra perfect. between the superb excursions we had grew to become into at Rutherford Hill vineyard.
