IT IS ANTIFREEZE! You've got a bad heater core.
Husband says that it is only dangerous if it was being directly inhaled.

It would help a lot to know what kind of car you have. Sounds like it might just be condensation from the air conditioner. There should be a drain line that lets the excess condensation drain onto the ground. Check that line to see if it is loose or plugged. Also, many cars have a heater core in the dashboard of the passenger side, but any fluid leaking out of it would be bright green, not brown.

It sounds like your heater core has taken a death leap. Just to be sure you should have your mechanic check it out. It is just normal for a heater core to drip liquid into the inside of the car when it blows. It is usually an inexpensive repair so don't panic! You will need to at least have it capped off for now until you get back into the need to have a heater again. I am not a mechanic by any means but have been through this problem a couple of times.

Do you have A/C in the car??? Does the liquid feel greasy??? Do you find your car is over heating??? I think it is either your A/C or your heater core that is not working properly. By the color it sounds like Antifreeze. If the mechanic you took it to last is saying there is nothing wrong then I would go for a second opinion. You definatly have an issue there

Prolly a leaking heater core. This is waay up underneath your dash/firewall and has hoses to route hot water from your motor into a radiator-looking 'heater core'.
It should smell like radiator coolant. It'll ruin your carpeting, if left unfixed too long. A temporary fix is to bypass this part of the heating system from the engine side of the firewall.
You'd probably need help for this, and certainly to replace your heater core. That is a labor intensive job.
Good luck!

Does it sort of smell sweet? I only ask because the only fluid that runs into the car would be antifreeze which has to do with the heater. Another suggestion would be to turn your heater on and if you smell a strong odor or see the windshield fog up than that is more than likely your culprit.

It'll be one of two things. If you smell anti-freeze, you have a leaking heater core. Check your radiator to see if it's low on fluid. If it's plain liquid, you have a blockage that is not allowing your evaporator core drain tube to drain itself. I don't know what type of vehicle you have, if your drain tube comes out of your fire wall, it's easy to unclog (in most cases). NEVER stick anything up there like a coat hanger. The easiest way to clear the tube is to use compressed air. Generally anything that's up there will come loose and your drain tube will begin functioning properly again. :)

a few possibilities. You have a heater core leaking coolant, you have a plugged a/c evaporator core drain, or if you have a sunroof the drain pan tube is plugged. Final possibility is you have a leaking bottle of something under the pass side seat.

Hi there If it is green in color it is your heatercore it may be clogged up,which is why we all need to keep up on maintaining our cars,if it is water and clear the a/c needs to be checked out in that area, the condenser may be plugged up,but save yourself time by having both or at least in this case one of them fixed,so these problems don't come back.GOOD LUCK

It might be condensation from your A/C system.
With a car floor that is carpeted, this is a big hassle, and it will eventually rot out the carpet. But condensation happens.
