as null. That is to say, when I go to Start>Help and Support>Pick a task>Use tools to view computer info>My computer info>View the status of system hardware and software , and I look where it says 'Hardware', where it says 'video card' there is 'null' under STATUS, UPDATE, AND HELP.

I did not look at this computer information prior to uninstalling vista. So I don't know if it said null before or not.

I have looked up specs for my machine (emachine t3612), and it says that I have Integrated Intel Graphics.

Is this normal? If not, what is the solution?

For all the pro Vista folks...everything works excellently (if that's a word) since I removed Vista and installed XP.

When Vista was still on it, it was slow as hell. I even stopped some of the unnecessary programs and services from loading with MSCONFIG, but that didn't improve jack. I disabled aeroglass, and tried using a classic theme/interface, but that helped very little.

Vista is slow as hell, its crap uses too damm much memory, and the occassional unexplainable OS errors greatly surpass XP's in frequency or occurrence and annoyance.

God bless every one of you, but Vista sucks eggs.

This PC didn't come with a Drivers & Utilities CD. It came with a Vista cd (which I tried to get drivers off of, with no luck), and it came with also an 'Upgrade anytime' cd.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION. I INSTALLED DRIVER #6 ON THIS PAGE, AND FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS IN README FILE. FIXED THE ISSUE. :-)

Download the chipset driver. That "should" fix it. :)

Good choice sticking with XP. Vista sucks for right now.

Well for the reason that you are asking this, I anticipate you have got in no way hooked up an working procedure earlier than. Which is why I do not advise putting in XP. There is a hazard that your pc does not have any XP drivers, and if that is real then shopping XP might be an high priced mistake. If you relatively hate Vista, take Linux Ubuntu Geek's recommendation and get Ubuntu. Ubuntu has pleasant hardware detection and can run on whatever

Not sure if anyone else would know that except for you and whoever else would have the same exact system you have. I would try working with what you have done now. If its not broke, I wouldn't try looking for a solution. If you have difficulties with what it was seemingly supposed to do, look up the name of the video card on yahoo search and see what the specs are on just that. Then, see if there is anywhere on the web that would offer the patch to fix what's broke...meaning, maybe someone else has done the exact same thing as you and may have found the solution. Try the words, video card in emachine t3612 does what. that may give you some leads.

I am assuming that your default view is 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768 as a generic adapter and that is how you can see anything on your monitor.

You can get the video driver for this motherboard's integrated video at http://www.emachine-upgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket775/D945GCCR_downloads.shtml. Scroll down to the header that says "VIDEO: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator" and download the video driver. Try to "install" the video adapter in Control Panel | Add/Remove Hardware and install the downloaded video driver.

Good luck!!!
