Hello, Animation is a very vast field. What kind of animation do you want to learn? Example, If you watch, animated movie or a cartoon that is also a kind of animation, on website if you see moving objects that is also animation but they could be in Flash, Gif, Java format.

If you just want to use for website or in the HTML documents you can search for free ware. But if you want to be a professionals you should search for Animation school.

I make animated banners or funny items for fun.

Do you mean draw animation? Try looking on the internet and searching google for drawing animation.
