I suspect some are just having a bad day, but I'll also bet that many have some psychological problem, such as an inferiority complex. In "real life", those things are true of most rude people, so I suspect they are also true here. Plus, it is easier for people to be rude here when they are not face-to-face with someone - rather cowardly, eh?

This is a problem that really irks me! I am absolutely sure that some of the answers have value but because the answerer uses this strange short hand I can't understand them. There is a saying "if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself!" Some people would benefit from keeping that in mind. And PLEASE! Keep to the subject. Whew! I got that of my chest.

I think they are very highly demented and were probably brought up in an isolated place. But that's just my theory.

I imagine that the vast majority of them are affected by one or more of those vices. Unless they are in that group that just gets bitter when they find out you are not up for grabs.

None of the above. Many times I use sarcasm or humor. Like, when someone asks, "When was the last time you saw aliens at Wal-Mart ?"
Ans- There were all kinds of illegal aliens last Sunday at Wal-Mart.
