Most important of all, how much time you have to claim the jackpot. Make sure you haven't forfeited it.
Some states won't let the winner remain anonymous but some do. If you can stay anonymous, hire a lawyer to handle the procedure. Because the date is known, your wife will find out sooner or later and there is enough money for any lawyer to help her sue you, so don't try to hide. With 1/2 gone and then taxes, you'd be looking at $3-4 million over the lifetime of the win, not bad but not as much as before. You need the lawyer for the divorce anyway, hire a good accountant to help you plan your taxes.

If this is for real (I have my doubts) then I assume that you had an attorney help with the collection of your winnings and taxes. Your wife will have to know eventually. If she reads your mail at all then she will find out come tax time. If you divorce her, the courts will find it and your going to loose a large portion. So tell her already. Quit both your jobs and live the life of luxury anywhere that you choose. Now MY question... After reading this, I couldn't imagine anybody looking for advice in a matter such as this and then saying, " I'm a very handsome quiet guy who works two jobs." Could it possably be that you are seeking advice from the single man hungry lady's only?
By the way, I charge 1,000,000 for my advice.

First off work everything out with the IRS. Second, stick three million in a trust fund with an allowance directly deposited into your bank account. Third, pay off any and all debt. Fourth, DO NOT invest in businesses you know nothing about and don't donate anything until the heat's off and you can give anonymously without being made to feel guilty. Fifth, unplug the phone. Sixth, send me a million for my consultation fee.

Tell no one until all of that stuff blows over, in the mean time take a vacation just to think about what is going on back at home. Think of it from a distance, you'll feel better if you're around nice blue water and white sands and nobody around you knows who you are. That way you'll have time to think things over with a clear head. Lovely. Buy a Condo somewhere and don't tell anyone.

First get on your knees and thank God that you
could be so lucky, then get a financial adviser,
and put most of the money in the bank as you can
live off the interest and buy anything that you want.
As for your wife, how do you know that she does
not already know it as you just told us. If you did
win then good luck with not having any problems.

Congratulations. Invest the money and do nothing for one year until you have come to terms with suddenly being so rich. Don't make any major purchases or changes before then and take the financial advice usually offered to big winners. Enjoy your money in good health, live off the interest, and avoid golddiggers and hangers on.

1st get a lawyer and a cpa to help with the finances. Forget about the bickering family members; they aren't your problem. Your worse nightmare is going to be your wife. you may want to consider getting out of town for a while. Let your lawyer help handle the problems.

finish up your divorce. After that, quit your jobs, see a financial planner and try to invest some of that money and try to multiply it, and move into a nice house, not a mansion or anything, but move out of state or a place where no one knows you.
