9 answers

S = 2wy + 4wh

Transpose 4wh

S - 4wh = 2wy+ 4wh - 4wh

S - 4wh = 2wy

Divide both sides of the equation by 2w

S - 4wh / 2w = 2wy / 2w

S - 4wh / 2w = y

S= 2wy+4wh

1. Subtract 4wh from both sides (leaving 2wy alone on the right side), then you have
S - 4wh = 2wy

2. Then, divide both sides by 2w, leaving you with
(S-4wh)/2w = y (your final answer)

Aim to try and collect all the terms which don't include y on one side of the equals sign, and the terms which do include y on the other.

S = 2wy+4wh
Subtract 4wh from each side:
s - 4wh = 2wy
Divide by 2w:
y = (s - 4wh) / 2w.

Hey there!

Here's the answer.

S=2wy+4wh -->
S=2w(y+2h) -->
S/2w=y+2h -->
S/2w-2h=y -->
y=(S/2w)-2h

So the answer is y=(S/2w)-2h.

Hope it helps!
