There is no fire hydrant in India.
In most of the big buildings and hotels they have own water storage available to fight fire. For rest of the areas its depending on natural water sources or water tanker carried by fire brigade.

No India doesn't use Fire Hydrants. In case of fire locals try to put out the fire using buckets of water till the fire engines arrive. Most have outdated stuff on board. They take hours to put out a fire, which almost always engulfs the area and its surroundings.
We still have a major problem for normal drinking water in most parts of India. If Fire Hydrants are installed they'll be tampered with by miscreants for domestic use.
I am an Indian. It's still a jungle here at times.
All those who have answered in the affirmative do not know what a Fire Hydrant really is. They are talking about sprinklers and hoses in buildings to put out fires.

usually cities are having Municipality which are governing body for looking after water, sewage and cleanliness of the city. you may be calling it county. In India Municipality has one dept called Fire where mobile fire fighter van is equipped with pump , water tank and relevant equipments like ladder etc.
These van will try to use their own water to fight fire in case nearby fire hydrants are not available . some important places like Parliament house, residence of VIP places , malls , hotels air ports etc have started maintaining fire hydrants but India as a whole it is distant dream...

usually a crowd gathers and tries to either piss or spit the fire out!
Just kidding in rural areas there are absolutely no fire hydrants or fire departments for that matter. If a fire starts the village basically gets together to put it out.

Yes, they do but not at all places. So, in the event of some fires, they do need to scount around for water or get a tanker with water.
