i want to make some heart shaped pins out of polymer clay to be 3/4 inches big(surface length not thickness). but im not sure if i need to start out bigger.

did a google, polymer clay shrinkage, and the site below said there is none. so do your piece as you want it to end up.

All brands of clay can shrink. The ratio can be from 1% to 5%. I found it depends on the softness/stickiness of the clay--how much solvent and plasticizer is present. thus leached clay will shrink less than fresh clay. the thickness of the sheet seems to have an inverse relationship to shrinkage

I think not because I saw a tv show featuring those clays and they didn't shrink when baked.
