Then I transfer money from my account to the credit card company and it is paid. I feel it is much safer.
But I went to get gas and it didn't ask for my pin number.
I simply swiped the card and it said pump the gas.
After I filled it up out came a receipt telling me how much they added to my bill. Anyone who stole this card could get gas with it. That scares me. Is there some way I can get the credit card company to make the gas station ask for a pin number?
I would call them but after press this number for hours and where the place is and my balance. After two hours never talking to a real person. But moving in a circle of press 2 for go to hell. I gave up. Can i get it done?

I think, think of it this way...if they steal your card and you report it stolen, you can recover, but if you get your cash or checks stolen it is harder to recover, the cash, probably never, the checks you can cancel, but really the credit card is actually safer anyway. Just make it a habit to always make sure you have it. If you have been out, check for it when you get to the car, or when you get home.

that is why I pay cash when I buy gas. when you have to call someone, you have to push this button and that button and buy the time you get to a human at the other end, you forgot what you called for, that is it you are not put on hold for an hour or so. when I call mediacom for the tv, I am on hold for fifteen or twenty minutes and many times I just hang up.

Keep your card in your site, if it is stolen people can use it but if you report it stolen you only have to pay the first $50. You will file a police report and they will cancel the card.

my debit card does that. sometimes It wants the pin, sometimes not. that can be a security risk if you lost the card.

I would call them and ask about it.
