I'm from Romania, it might be just my settings but is doesn't show Y!A Romania or anything like this. And about the mom/mum thing, I have also noticed this, their vocabulary has changed since the English collonies got mixed with the people there and in several hunderds of years it's beginning to look like if it wasn't even English at the begininng.Just think about it, if you and some friends got stuck on an island and start having children and such, the next generations will only speak something that would only be a little similar to your actual language, right?

Oh and, by the way, Yahoo! was founded in California (U.S.) so no, it's not a UK&Irelands site. It's for people all over the world =)

I think that all the questions are everywhere and that anyone can answer because I 've tried other sites where English is the language. I think that anyone can answer but it would be mostly answers from the country of that particular yahoo answers. I don't know I'm trying to figure that out myself. I'm Canadian and sometimes I'll go onto the UK, Aussie or New Zealand site for a change. I say mum by the way and I spell colour as colour

YAHOO is an American company with offices around the world.
**The company is *headquartered* in Sunnyvale, California, with offices around the globe.**
Mine just says Yahoo, since it's maintained in the USA, no need to show another Country.

Actually, I think your question shows a very narrow minded, rude attitude. I have friends and family in the UK and Ireland and I am not insulted by anyone changing MOM to MUM.. Nor are they.
I think MOST people are intelligent enough to get the concept.

I think they're intertwined.

Mum is wrong! lol, just kidding.

the American site just says Yahoo! Answers. That's because Yahoo! is an American business.

I'm from the USA and I can read, write, and even spell correctly. I also know how to use the spell check feature. I understand that you guys use an S sometimes where we use a Z and an OU where we would just have an O. I wouldn't try and "correct" that. But if you say "your" when you mean "you're", I will jump all over it.

I love the UK and Ireland! (Hate France!) :P

The Americans can choose to view "all English language questions" and therefore can join in the UK/Ireland side of things. Of course, we can do the same!

lemme help unconfuse you...I had the same problem...I kept ending up on UK sites and you people talk funny..hehe j/k... ANYWAY, sign out, then sign back in and choose at the very bottom the country you want. Then, add it to your favs. When you go to YA, go through your favs and THEN you will always be starting in your country. BUT, when you answer random questions, you may not know where they come from, and you might end up back in another country. And that might be the reason for your question.

Mine says Yahoo Canada Answers. But I see everybody on here. Canadians, Americans, British, Australians. You name the country and I'm sure someone from that country is on here.

Mine just says "Yahoo! Answers" and nothing underneath. I'm on the American site but I'm still getting your question.

I read somewhere that if the questions were written in English, no matter what country they were from, they'd appear on this site.
