Right so Rove asked this question:
“What’s the difference between “insurgents” and “Terrorist” in Iraq?
I answered with :
“Not much in the tactical sense. Insurgents refer to troops sent clandestinely from Syria and Iran to fight in a way that promotes an Iraqi civil war. Terrorist can have a myriad of reasons to create terror, and they do not care who gets hurt in the process. I guess you can say Insurgents have a government to support them while terrorists may or may not.”
Now I don’t see how anyone could thumbs down that answer...or am I missing something?

oh I'm not complaining about it I was just a little perplexed on why someone would thumbs down an impartial answer that was given.
BTW- Netmorale , your answer to the question seems sound enough to me as well.

You may have gathered some users who "stalk" your posts and give a thumbs down just because they don't like you.
I don't see much in your answer that would prompt me to give a thumbs down but I do have a sightly different view.
Enemy combatant or insurgent - A person who engages in combat with our troops or the troops of our allies.
Terrorist - a person who uses random or targeted violence against non-combatants in order to create generalized fear.

It's almost funny. Even when you post the truth people are so biased that they will give you the thumbs. Thumbs down does not make your answer any the less truthful. So many questions are just meant to inflame and have no social or contributing value and I will give a sarcastic answer.

I hear you loud and clear! I as well have a thumbs down club! I got thumbs down for answering that one death would be to many, in reference to the death tally in Iraq for the month of June! Why would anyone thumbs down that?

your answer is very correct especially as it pertains to Iraq, but it's obviously not what some wanted to hear. the popular answer was that insurgents were freedom fighters who were fighting to remove the US forces occupying their land (paraphrasing).

It's ok. I got 5 thumbs down yesterday in a question that merely asked what your political affiliation is and where you live. I guess Libertarians from Berkeley just aren't that popular.

I think we all have those fan clubs, I know that I certainly do. If somebody asked what the weather is like here and should my response be: Cloudy, humid and hot.... I'd end up getting several thumbs down.. LOL
It's nothing more that childishness. Ignore it.

There's a lot of ignorant people here with extremely biased opinions and will thumb-down anything they don't agree with, whether the answer was well written or not. I wish more people would only use the thumbs down for answers with unsupported, rash opinions or mockery, written with bad spelling and no grammar.
I predict five thumbs down for this answer.

No, welcome to answers. I betcha it's the anti-conservatives on here that are giving you thumbs downs. Even if your answer is true, and logical, they will thumbs down you no matter what. The truth hurts them. I'm sure your answer has been reported for one reason or another. They succeed at crying and whining. Keep hitting them with the truth!
