for all the grammer freaks out there PI$$ OFF.....in Fact Every qUestion and Answer i put in here will have misstaaakes if you want to correct them .....good luck ........i was on recently and a girl who described herself as borderline suicidal sounded like she was in tears over some idiot who decided to correct Her sPeLLINg.in a serious question in whitch she was asking for help...so why dont some of you join me in this campaign ...eVery time you ask or answer A question .put a mistake in it for me .......it will soon pis$ THEM off

It's not being a nerd. Spelling correctly or at least somewhat accurately is the least you could do if you're going to post something that hundreds of people are going see. Nobody likes having to try and decipher what someone is saying. I admit, however, that not everything must be corrected all the time. This is someone who has competed in the national spelling bee twice by the way....I added that for effect. Actually I was trying to make a point. Even the best spellers use chatspeak u knw.

I don't correct grammar or spelling unless it's in Poetry or something where feedback is being solicited. I am really anal about spelling, though, cause there IS spellcheck, after all. and not using it just seems lazy.I'm really NOT a superiority freak but I DO appreciate the time and effort others put into their writing so that they can be understood better. Sorry..I will not correct anywhere else but Poetry.

I wouldn't call them grammar freaks...
I just think they're astonished as to how something so basic can be so difficult for some people.
You don't have to be a genius to figure out that grammar doesn't have an "e". Or could I be wrong? Is it possible that I'm a genius and I didn't know it? That would really light up my day!

Because improper grammar and spelling IS ANNOYING TO READ and this is NOt being a nerd. Also, there is a reason for good grammer and spelling ... so that people can understand what you are saying!!!!!! However of course there are appropriate and inappropriate times to correct re: suicidal letter.

I confess, I read a question and am tempted sometimes, but we're supposed to be here helping each other, having a good time, or both. The way I see it, if I were to try the 'high and mighty' approach, I could lose a chance to help someone, and probably make just as bad a mess of My next question. i fean, I nu(k at punct., gram, and speilng as much as anyone.

Um, I usually correct grammar and such, but only sometimes, not to be mean its just that I grew up with two English professors for parents and its just automatic, nothing personal......you just got to simmer down.....I like to use correct grammar because it makes me look as though I'm not a hick, and believe me, where I live, that counts.....but I would never do it to make some one feel stupid, especially if they were asking for help...that guy seems like a jerk, but don't take it out on all of us who like to use correct spelling and grammar....and excuse me, but I will not piss off......

I'm certain that you can find more enlightenment than aggravating people. Why not go volunteer at an elderly citizen center. You need to put your big mature persons' panties on and worry about something more important! I am not saying that a gal wanting to kill herself isn't important but to drag it on and on and on isn't the most intelligent thing one can do. Email the 'nerd' that you dislike and fight your own battles.

OMG dude on myspace in my school theres this one kid on the forum that is like "You spelled this wrong. And your grammar is wrong here. and blah blah blah." I hate people like that. Because i know i'm spelling it wrong I just dont feel like taking the time to capitalize every place its needed and putting an apostrophe in "dont" and using commas where its not 100% necessary and spelling everything perfectly if I'm only talking on yahoo answers or a forum or to my friends.
I'm more of a phone person anyway.

Some people do love to be geeks on spelling and grammar I have noticed that too. I beleive that every body should be able to write as they wish. some people on here may have special needs or are dyslexic I have no problem with errors it is not a serious work life depending site is it?
