The Beatles simply cannot do any wrong in my opinion. It's the music I grew up with so it's all good. As each song came out they continued getting better all the time (excuse the pun).
It is so hard to choose because there are red period songs like Norwegian Wood, Rain, Baby You're A Rich Man, She Said She Said, What You're Doing, Hey Bulldog that are among my all-time favourite songs - not just Beatles songs. Yet the later albums were just as brilliant and I also have to site songs like Lady Madonna, Cry Baby Cry and perhaps the very best Beatles song, Across The Universe.
If I *REALLY* had to choose, it would have to be the later part of the red period, but right now Lady Madonna is playing on beatlesradio.com (which plays whenever I'm at my PC) and I'm starting to waver again. But it's the Love version of Lady Madonna and there's that snip of Hey Bulldog so I'm sliding back to red again. LOL.
There simply is no way to choose!

Red for me! The Red Period has a freshness, and vibrancy that holds up today. The music itself reflects "Beatlemania" in it's forward thrusting sound...You do feel as if you're being swept up into the hurricane that Beatlemania was becoming.
The Blue Period was calming down and relaxing. Like the Beatles themselves, with the occassional rush of the "old madness" resurfacing
Even the colours reflect this. Red for the red hot feverish time/life of the Beatles
Blue for the tranquil calm. Yes, they were still wanted and obsessed over... But they could also now go out for a walk without it turning into a sprint upon being spotted by fans.

I can't choose between the two, it just depends what type of mood I'm in. Sometimes I just want to hear "raw" Beatles, like Please Please Me, and sometimes I want to hear really polished music, like Abbey Road.
Less than a year ago I had to make a list of my top ten favorite Beatles songs for a class, and it has completely changed since then! My professor for the class says her list changes every semester too.
I think what makes the Beatles so popular is that they were a band that could record a really great album in a day, or take almost a year and still create a really great album!

Blue! It's nice to go back and listen to red from time to time but 66-70 was definitely more intelligent, experimental & interesting!

I think 66-70, they were maturing musically and as men. Looking outside of the group for inspiration.

62-66, excluding Rubber Soul and Revolver, they were effectively a boy group, no credibility. I can only assume people like this era because they like disposible pop but don't recognise because it's the Beatles, and they're like, so obviously, the greatest group to ever grace a recording studio.

62-66 is the bealtes pop era... that period is good for no-beatle-fan, the red time is comparable to elvis and berry. nice songs but... the blue times are 909% better. They really re-invented rock-pop-hard music.... age comparable to Zeppelin, Stones, Hendrix, Clapton, etc...the base of contemporary Rock as we know it now. every beatle fan agree with that.
When i say fan, is "Because" knows why "Blueies" are "909"% "better all the time".

Out of those two albums the blue one wins, but my favourite Beatles era is actually 1965-69, between Rubber Soul and Abbey Road.
